Established in 1911, Crawford State School currently caters for the individual learning needs of approximately 48 students from the village area of Crawford & surrounding rural areas in the Kingaroy District and the nearby Kingaroy township. Crawford State School caters to both boys and girls from Prep to Year 6, with students supported by 9 dedicated staff members.
Lessons are conducted in three separate learning spaces. The spacious double classroom upstairs is an excellent space for the Year 3 - 6 class in one side and the Prep class in the other. The most recent addition to the school, which was provided through the federal government’s ‘Building the Education Revolution’ initiative, is the learning space for our Years 1 to 3 students.
All learning spaces boast excellent lighting, reverse cycle air conditioning for our hot summers and cold winters, interactive white boards, television facilities, classroom laptops solely for students use and many wonderful learning resources.
Outside we have large, grassed playing fields, and tree shaded play areas, a newly installed undercover play and sandpit area, a large shaded sandpit and two fully shaded adventure playgrounds for free play.
As a school we are conscious of our need for environmental actions on our school site. Solar panels have been installed to help cut down our environmental footprint and we also have vegetable gardens. Shredded paper from the office and classrooms is also used as mulch on the garden beds. This year we are embarking on integrating the vegetables into all garden beds to create attractive edible gardens.
Our school motto of “Strive to Achieve” is pertinent to our curriculum, which has been designed to enhance both the needs of the community and the individual student.
